CURRENTLY SHOWING:
"Out of the Pocket: iPhoneography" by Dorian Hill, Lynn Casper, and Morgan Kenney
Experience Wilmington's first iPhoneography exhibit by Dorian Hill, Lynn Casper, and Morgan Kenney!
SHOW CLOSES MARCH 9TH!
Artist Bios:
- Dorian Hill is an iPhoneographer artist born into a family of visual artists in Hollywood, CA. She has always had a love and fascination of the fine details found in nature. Having lived around the world as a professional model, she has also been able to capture that diverse wonder through photography. Shooting exclusively with her iPhone for the past two years, she has been pushing the limits of the medium with large format prints of flowers and landscapes and is currently expanding her “off the wall” collection of Functional Art accessories with her images. Her work can be found in shops across North Carolina and on the web at miphonepics.com.
- Lynn Casper is the social media strategist for Working Films, a national nonprofit that links social issue documentary films to cutting edge activism. In 2011 she launched her latest project, HOMOGROUND, a podcast featuring music by under-the-radar queer (& queer-friendly) bands/musicians. She is also a main organizer for the Pink Sheep Film Festival, a LGBT film festival held during Pride week in Wilmington. Lynn’s Unfortunate Umbrellas project, striking iPhotos of found and discarded umbrellas, started in November 2009 when Lynn Casper witnessed and documented her first unfortunate umbrella in Madison, WI. After that, she began noticing these tragic umbrellas everywhere. She posted them on the internet and soon friends and strangers started sending her umbrella sightings.
- Morgan Kenney's diverse career in architecture, real estate, and Museum Directorship, he has used photography as a professional asset and personal avocation. In addition to a Nikon he’s used since the beginning of his venture into photography. Morgan has developed an affinity for using the iPhone for many of his images. He finds that the iPhone captures everyday life, candid portraits and, given its portability, can capture images as they are discovered. Due to Apple's continued improvements and ongoing expansion of the iPhone's technological capabilities, Morgan believes that it has grown to be a viable recording devise parallel with many high-end digital cameras.
Additional Fourth Friday Receptions at WHQR:

Our gallery space has been named in her honor.
